Homeroom teacher for Primary (Grade 4)

EAS is seeking a qualified, experienced, motivated, and dedicated local Homeroom teacher who is committed to developing students to their full potential in a supportive and caring environment. Reports To: Primary Principal Main Duties and Responsibilities: Design, prepare, and deliver a high-quality curriculum for grades within the IB PYP framework to suit the individual needs of all students; Ensure lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of all students; Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide targets so that all learners can see success and improve constantly; Liaise with the Curriculum Leader and Curriculum Coordinators to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom; Assume responsibility for the pastoral care of a class of students, paying particular attention to personal development and child protection; Collaborate with other teachers and Curriculum Coordinators to deliver an interdisciplinary curriculum and share new ideas, approaches, and professional knowledge; Communicate accurately and regularly with parents. Requirements are as follows: Higher education in Elementary Teaching/Education or equivalent (preferably a master’s degree); Expertise in teaching early literacy skills; Previous experience teaching the curriculum of the school would be preferable; Knowledge and experience in developing primary curriculum or creating PYP units is preferable; Comfortable proactively learning new technology and integrating technology into the classroom to increase learning; Previous experience working in an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, experience with Constructivist learning pedagogy or Inquiry Based-Primary Years Program (PYP) pedagogy; Fluent English speaking and writing skills; Excellent knowledge of computer office standard applications, such as MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint; Ability to apply interactive teaching and learning methods.
