ESP Electrical Engineer / Electromechanical Engineer

Industry: Oil & Gas Salary: AZN 2300–2500 Azn Location: Azerbaijan IRES is seeking an experienced ESP Electrical Engineer / Electromechanical Engineer on behalf of our client operating in the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) systems and associated electrical equipment. Key Responsibilities Install, commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair surface and downhole electrical equipment associated with ESP systems. Perform maintenance and repair of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) control panels, electrical circuits, and input/output reactors. Conduct insulation resistance testing (Megger testing) on downhole electrical motors (12–30 kW and above) and high-voltage power cables (3 kV / 5 kV). Participate in cable splicing, termination, and installation activities. Configure and troubleshoot downhole Telemetry Monitoring Systems (TMS) and surface GSM-based monitoring systems. Analyze pump performance curves, monitor electrical loads, and troubleshoot motor overload, overheating, and locking conditions. Ensure reliable electrical equipment operation under challenging well conditions, including high water content, sand, and corrosive environments. Maintain strict compliance with electrical safety regulations, HSE requirements, and industry standards. Candidate Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline. Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas production industry, particularly with ESP systems. Hands-on experience in ESP installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, VFD control panels, and power cable repair. Valid Electrical Safety Qualification (Group IV or V) authorizing work on electrical installations above 1,000 V. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment manuals. Strong understanding of high-voltage electrical systems and industrial safety procedures. Fluency in Azerbaijani and intermediate technical proficiency in English or Russian. Strong analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
